I’ve shared loads of ethical clothing guides on the blog, but I often get emails asking specifically about clothing brands that manufacture their clothes in the UK.

After all, the UK was once a clothing manufacturing powerhouse. It wasn’t that long ago that most clothes bought in high street shops were actually made in the UK.

That’s all changed over the last forty years or so, as fast fashion brands realised they could make bigger profits if they switched to using factories in countries that pay lower wages.

Despite this switch, there are quite a few brands, dedicated to sustainable fashion, that still manufacture here in the UK.

Finding them can be tricky though, as it’s easy to get caught out. Many brands say they design their products in the UK, but this isn’t the same as manufacturing them in the UK.
